August 2, 2011

Edan, today is your first birthday. I know you have no idea what is going on, but we do. I know that this day will forever be the most amazing day I have ever known. I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you and I can't wait for our party tonight. I love you big boy.

P.S. Please don't grow up too fast, boog boog.

hugs and kisses,

JANUARY 25, 2011 ON THE MOVE

On January 25, 2011 I walked in to Ms. Joanie's to pick up Mr. Edan Crews and this is what I walked into:

I opened the door and Ms. Joanie was holding Edan down the hallway. She said, "Wait! Wait right there!" I paused and then felt overwhelming joy for I knew what was about to happen.

She placed him down on the long rug leading to the front door and said, "Go get her! Go get Momma!" And he did! He crawled all the way to me. Tears of joy streamed down my face as I said, "Edan! Oh Edan! You are crawling! Oh!"

When he arrived at my feet, I reached down to pick up my beautiful, beautiful baby boy. I hugged and kissed him and cried some more. I was the proudest Momma in the world. I apologized to Ms. Joanie for crying, but I think she knows I am really sensitive. She has probably seen me cry about 10 times now. She even admitted to tearing up when she saw it.

Edan didn't crawl when we got home. I think he was worn out. He did get a good rub down after his bath. His legs were so tight from all the crawling. I have a little athlete on my hands now.

Edan Crews crawled for the first time around 10:30 a.m. on January 25, 2011.

Merry Christmas from the Crews' 2010

Edan's First Ornament
He is a Leo Lion.

This year was Edan's very first Christmas!!! We missed our family, but were very excited to spend our first Christmas together. We all awoke with the fuzzy Christmas feeling that stayed all throughout the day. Edan knew something very special was happening. He may not know who left all those gifts this year, but I have a feeling he will get to know "The Big Man" soon.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
We wish you a happy and peaceful New Year!

Edan's first guitar

Edan’s first guitar. Here is baby boy with his first guitar. It does play all by itself but remember his motor skills still leave something to be desired. He is quite advanced for his age but he is only 4 months after all. Give him at least until he’s 1 and he’ll be playing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” or something of that nature.

I’ve got lots to catch up with as soon as school is over next week. I’ve got my sisters wedding, Edan’s first roll over on his belly. Lots of fun stuff. Until then here’s a quick nugget for your day. See ya.

I haven’t blogged since Edan arrived on the scene. As all of you already know he’s absolutely amazing. His smile is the most wonderful, enriching thing I have ever experienced in my life. Lisa and I were talking yesterday about how much he’s a part of us and our home now. It would just be really weird without him. Case in point: We went to see Harry Potter a few weeks ago (really good if you haven’t been, quite dark though) and had our daycare provider keep Edan a few extra hours. About an hour into the movie I see Lisa fidgeting next to me and looking around all uncomfortable like. I asked her what was wrong and she says “you don’t feel like we have somewhere to be?” I have to admit it was strange going somewhere without him. I mean we have been going to movies together for 9 years now and we felt empty without him. He’s the cat’s pajamas.

On to the attached picture. As you can tell Ediddy has found his feet. They are the newest, most interesting thing in the world to him right now. He’ll just stare at them and try to put them in his mouth. Pretty amazing how limber he his. I tried to put my feet in my mouth to see how limber I was right after this picture and I immediately threw up. Just kidding but it was an impossible feat.

I hope all of our loved ones have a very Merry Christmas season. We love you all and can’t wait until our paths cross again.

Tim (Pops)
