Once again, Tim and I had a weekend full of baby preparation. This was the Big Weekend...we put the crib together. We have been waiting on this moment for months. Just to feel the comforter, to lay the skirt at the edge of the crib, to stand at the front of the crib and look down at what soon will be a sweet baby fast asleep.
We wanted to make this a memorable experience. We DIDN'T want to drive each other mad as most couples do when taking on tasks such as this. Honestly, this was one of the easiest things we have had to build together. As the pieces met each other, it looked much bigger than I was expecting. We took our time and made sure each piece was tight and snug.
Afterward, we unfolded the new beautiful bedding set. Once we found this, we knew it was the one...animal carnival parade...who doesn't love that. We placed the bedding on the bed and then began on the mobile which by the way is one of the most precious parts of a nursery.
This was truly a day of reward for us. After all of the pieces lay in their place, we wound the mobile and sat gazing and listening to the music (we re-wound about 10 times). We knew exactly what the other was thinking. This is real. This is the most beautiful and real moment taking place in our life right this very minute.
I can't describe in words how we feel. Nothing compares to the love inside of us right now. I know that we both are more in love with each other and this life that has been Gifted to us than we will ever be able to express. Love is a beautiful beautiful thing. It comes in many shapes and sizes and brands, but the bottom line is it is love.
Every morning we wake up with one thing on our mind...Edan. We love you so very much and can not wait to share life with you.
