I never realized how hard it would be to name my own child. There really is a lot of thought that should go into it. This will make up the essence of who they start the world as, this will be the thing they answer to and something they will carry with them through their life.
Tim and I thought we had a name, but no...something wasn't right about it. It was dark and not full of life and passion both things we were looking for. We wanted this to be an expression of our love as well as our new love for our son.
Back to the drawing board we went digging through lists of names and their meanings. We took our time and finally found it...Edan. Edan is of Scottish, Irish and Gaelic origin. A variant of Aidan. Edan means LITTLE FIRE, FIRE or FULL OF FIRE.
River was the easy part being a part of the earth already. This name is English and means, well...RIVER: A NATURAL FRESH WATERCOURSE FLOWING TOWARD THE OCEAN, SEA OR LAKE.
So, we will have a little piece of fire and water with us. EDAN RIVER CREWS I can not wait to see you. I love you more than you will ever know already.
Lisa
